The New England SIOR Chapter hosted its 16th annual Golf
Outing on Thursday, May 26 at
Granite Links Golf Club located on Quarry Hills Drive in Quincy,
Mass. The T-time was at 12 noon with box lunches and drinks provided.
Immediately following the tournament, the SIOR members and invited
guests gathered for the group and individual golf awards. Cocktails and
d’hoevres were served. This was the first time the SIOR Chapter has held
the event at this club.
When first
opened, Granite Links was voted “Top
Ten Best New Upscale Golf Course in the Country” by Golf Digest
and more recently was named to this publication's prestigious list of “100
Greatest Golf Courses in America!” where the public can play.
Granite Links is a private membership club that also provides a limited
level of non-member access. The 27 challenging holes of links style
golf offer the most City of Boston scenic vista.
The
clubhouse is a shingled Nantucket Style building that sits 300 feet
above sea level with outdoor balconies perched above a water-filled
quarry overlooking the 18th green. The Members Only Grille and locker
rooms are located here along with the very popular Tavern Restaurant,
which is open to non-members and SIOR members had access to the
Clubhouse.
We want to thank
Vantage
Builders, Inc. for again sponsoring this event and Don Mancini,
SIOR for organizing this event.
